QuestionHi, I'm 24 years old and I live in Trinidad, which is in the West Indies, Caribbean. I got my last period on or around January 4th 2013, missed my period the beginning of February which clued me in that I might be pregnant along with feeling generally tired and lots of breast tenderness. Took a pregnancy test on Feb 7th, first response, which was positive. I calculated that I was around 5 weeks pregnant by the time I did the procedure.
On Feb 10th I went and bought eight (8) 200mg misoprostol (brand name C) tablets. Abortion is illegal in my country and that drug is fiercely guarded, so I thank my lucky stars I knew where to get it, it was a bit expensive at $25 Trinidad and Tobago Dollars (a little over $4USD) per tablet, so I paid $200 for the set. I waited until Feb 12th and dissolved 2 of the tablets buccally for half hour then swallowed them, and inserted 2 into the vagina at the same time. About 5 hours later I repeated the procedure.
Between that time I had slight cramping, and blood tinged discharge. After the second procedure I started bleeding, all the while the cramps were not unbearable at all, but then again I don't usually have painful periods either. I filled only one regular sized pad, and while I was on the toilet I passed 2 balls of tissue one right after the other, I could not see them properly so I'm not sure what they looked like. After that there was a little more blood, then the bleeding slowed to a stop, with the same blood tinged discharge that stopped then reappeared after a while. I did not bleed again, so basically I had light bleeding for about 2-3 hours.
It's now the 15th, I haven't seen any blood on my pad but there is bright red bloody discharge from time to time. I had lower back pain and slight cramps for a little while but now for the most part I don't feel anything. My breasts were very tender and larger in size before I took the pills. They are still a little tender but not as much as they were before. I'm not too worried but I'd still like an expert opinion on whether my abortion was successful, because I'd like to know if it's recommended that I repeat the procedure again just to be sure that everything was expelled.
An answer would be greatly appreciated mostly for my own peace of mind. Also, this is the third time since I was 16 that I've done this procedure. I was not careless, and I do not use this procedure as a go-to to get out of a sticky situation, each time was an accident after careful protection, this time the condom obviously broke but we were not aware. I wish I could've kept the baby this time simply because I love kids and I know I'm old enough to handle it now, financially and otherwise, but sadly the dad and I were not working out and we broke up. He does not even know I was pregnant, I feel a little badly about that but I chose not to tell him so that I could spare him the sadness of knowing it was my choice and I chose to abort. I'm also dating someone new, I really would like it to work, of course I haven't told my new boyfriend that I was pregnant with another man's baby, so that's why I really want to know if I'm still pregnant so I can deal with the situation and prevent myself from losing out on this new, absolutely amazing relationship that I'm in right now.
Thanks so much in advance for your answer, I look forward to it!

It has been 1 weeks since you took the pills. You can perform a urine pregnancy test. It should be faint positive. If it is still very positive, you need to repeat a dose of the Misoprostol.
