AnswerHello, carolyn,
Given how erratic the hormones are in a woman's body after abortion, it is difficult to know what any given hCG readings mean, especially given the fact that the amount normally varies widely; there is quite a range at every stage of pregnancy.
It is quite likely that your low blood pressure was caused by excessive bleeding after the pill abortion. This is very common, and I think most women don't realize just how much blood they lose.
If you didn't bleed after the shot, it probably didn't do anything. As far as anxiety and mood swings are concerned, these are often due to malnutrition. Some women need much higher doses of certain supplements to be able to combat these problems. For example, monosodium glutimate can cause damage to the adrenal glands. Normally, they make gamma linolenic acid, which affects mood. MSG can cause the adrenal glands to make an insufficient amount. Evening primrose oil or borage oil are good sources of GLA, and in my experience, if the adrenals are producing too little GLA, then a woman can experience panic attacks or other problems. The way to find out is to take a pearl of one of these oils when experiencing a panic attack or other mood problem. If it clears up in 10 minutes (assuming it otherwise wouldn't clear up that quickly), then this is the problem. GLA is something the body makes naturally anyway, so taking a supplement when there is insufficient GLA will not be harmful. Another really good supplement, also not harmful, is phosphatidyl choline. This is a form of B vitamin. When a person is under stress, the body needs more vitamins to combat the extra destruction of vitamins that comes from dealing with stress. Normally, they sell phosphatidyl choline in 1 gram doses, and it usually comes with phosphatidyl serine. These are things you can try.
Most doctors know very little about these things. They aren't taught nutrition, and they only learn to push drugs for problems.
If you are pregnant again, you would be wise to leave your body alone, and not try another abortion of any kind. Abortion is very dangerous. It can take your life, cause you serious long term health problems, and harm your future children. There are resources available all over the United States for women in your position. These are organizations that provide many different kinds of help. To find one near you, go to this web site:
