Acrylic Nail Tip Replacement: Removal vs. Refill - Nail Care Q&A

I recently had pink and white acrylics put on for the first time.  I have no experience with acrylics of any kind.  I have had several fills done and the white tips are now grown out far beyond the nail bed.  Do I need to remove the entire acrylic nail to have new tips applied or will my technician cut off the tip and sand down the pink acrylic to apply a new tip?  Thanks!!!

To keep the french manicure look your nail technician when doing the fill should file most of the acrylic over the smile line, and the replace it with white acrylic. She shouldn't put another set of tips or ask you to do a new set. Hope i could be of assisstance.
