Protecting Fingernails from Guitar String Nicks: Best Solutions

hi. what is the best way to coat/protect the tips of nails so metal guitar strings don't nick them so easily with fingerpicking? my nails are fine with nylon string/classical techniques, but the electric guitar strings rapidly abraid or cut them. can you just coat them with acrylic or something?  thanks

I don't know much about playing guitar, but to make your nails stronger you can overlay them with acrylic, gel or fiberglass. These systems are all very effective and choosing one will depend on what you tech can perform and you personal preferences, you should consult a nail tech about them.
