UV Gel Overlays for Weak, Bending Nails: A Professional Assessment

Question
hi Liza, I've bitten my nails as long as i can remember and i have recently grown
them. Now that they have got some length to them, they just seem to bend and
become really weak, would uv gel overlays help with keeping them strong?

Answer
hi amy
sorry for the delay in answering, ive been working away from my pc.
well done to you for growing your nails!
your natural nails may be naturally weak, look at your mums nails, if they are the same, dont beat yourself up as it may not have anything to do with you biting them.

an overlay on your nails will help them cope with the rigours of everyday, allowing them to grow to longer lengths.

either gel or liquid and powder (acrylic) will be fine, it matters more that you get a good technician who knows how to use her chosen system very well.

ask if they have any before and after pictures of her work. this will let you see the quality of her work. also, go somewhere that is busy as this is usually a good sign, but not a cheap production line that uses electric files as they may not care for your natural nails.

good luck!
