Horizontal Gel Nail Splitting: Causes & Solutions

Question
New to gel nails (three months) and have been having a problem with my nails spilling horizontally across my nail The break is below the tip close to the middle of my nail. It starts with the gel layer (i notice a thin dark line) and if I don't get in for a repair, it deepens till my own nail is split and damn is that painful!

I wear them a medium length and I'm fairly active with gardening and working with tools as I work in a bike shop.

Thanks for any advice,
Jan

Answer
It sounds like your tech isn't building up the stress/apex up properly.

This is EXTREMELY important, particularly with Gel Enhancements, that there is a bit more thickness built up in this area where you are experiencing breakage.

And wear gloves when you garden- that's a BIG deal ;)

E-mail me if you need to go to a high quality tech you don't need to train :)
