QuestionI just finish nail training from a beauty school . what I learn from school is so little to do well in nail field .
It is necessary to use primer for acrylic nail and how to use ? Also how to speed up to finish a full set acrylic nail ? How long time will you take to finish a new full set acrylic nail ?
Thanks very much !
AnswerMeily,
Congratulations on finishing school!! You are on your way to a wonderful career.
Schools really only teach you to pass your state boards. RARE is the school that goes above and beyond to teach you what you really need to know once you are done. This field is something that is forever changing and you will need to take classes to keep up with trends, products and styles.
There are many classes available for nailtechs across the country. My suggestion is to research and find what you want to know and take it from there. Some local distributors have weekly classes. Check it out. There is a GREAT show in Orlando once a year. Premiere is in June and is the best show I have ever been to. There are a myriad of classes and the manufacturers booths are amazing. There are even competitions. (this is one I entered and had a great time competing)
Now, not everyone needs primer but it is best to always use it because you never know what client will not need it. I suggest using the newer sticky type primers instead of the acid ones.
You will become faster as you do nails. I can get a full set of P&W's done in a bit over an hour, but when I was new it took me forever! You will find tricks to make you go faster but never compromise your client to lose time.
You will need to do MANY full sets and refills over time. Practice on friends and family members.
One thing to remember is that when you start working, it is the retouches that will keep you busy and that is where you will make your money.
Every tech is different and their techniques may have them work faster or slower than you. You cannot compare. Just do your best and then you will see you will get faster.
Best of luck to you!
buenos dias,
Lynnette
