QuestionTwo weeks ago I went to get gel nails for the first time. It has been about 10 years since I have had any nail enhancements. I had them put on, and went in today to have them re- based, they are so thick, and rough on the edges that I started researching online on how to take care of them. I realize now that i received acrylic nails, a powder and liquid chemical applied with a brush, that almost immediately hardened. A drill was used to "cut" the nail down, and there was a smell so powerful, that both times, I have had a heavy feeling when breathing when I left. I do not have asthma. My cuticle areas were cut on some fingers and I bled a little.
I believe that I received acrylic nails, thinking and being told they were gel nails. The phone book add states gel nails, and before I went, I called and asked about the gel nails, and then made an appointment. Do you think a refund is appropriate in this situation? I feel that I was not only misled, but out right lied to. I now have a product on my nails I did not want, and I think could possibly be MMA. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
AnswerI definitely think a refund is in order. More importantly though, so is a formal written complaint to your state's regulatory agency, and you should also look into local government to see if there is anything that can be done regarding the false advertisement of services.
