Acrylic Nail Overlay Experience & Alternatives: Is Pink & White Better?

Question
I have had acrylic overlays for about a year and get them done every 3-4 weeks. The process while not painful is uncomfortable as they remove the residue with the electric sanding device. Also, it there is a chip, they have to pry off the remaining coating and that is not pleasant. Last time the technician suggested that I try pink and whites but because of the language limitations was not able to tell me why this would be beneficial. Is it better, less uncomfortable to maintain? Thank you.

Answer
hi sandra

i must say, my policy is to never be negative about other technicians work. however, two of the things you have said, give me cause for concern.
1. electric drills are only safe in very experienced hands, they should never be used on the natural nail plate and it should not cause discomfort and/or heat.
2.acrylic product bonds irreversibly to your natural nail plate. if tools are used to aggressively remove any product, it will result in many layers off your natural nails ripping off with it :(

these procedures are used by people who either havent had any real education or who dont care.

let me ask you one question; would you go to a hairdresser who didnt speak english, caused you discomfort and treated your hair aggessively?

im assuming that like most of us, you wouldnt!

where do you live, i may be able to put you in touch with a well qualified tech.
what other salons are there where you live, and do you know what products they use?

in answer to your question at last (!)  the white and pink technique will probably be worse with them as they will have to drill off all the product to re-do your whites every other appointment.

please let me know how you get on, i would love you to have a great set of nails with none of the pain.
