QuestionQUESTION: I did gel nails on a client yesterday and everytime I used the wipe off solution to get rid off the sticky residue after curing the gel itself would wipe off, I tried thin layers and thicker layers but it still wiped off. Please help.....Beck
ANSWER: Dear Rebecca,
The gel itself is not cured. So either A) you're not using the right lamp or B) the bulbs aren't any good.
Where did you take your course and which brand are you using?
That will help me to better answer your question.

QUESTION: Thank you for the reply, I in the end just changed my bulb and all is better. But could I ask, in your opinion what is the best gel brand you have come across. I am using Mercia at the moment and previously used The Edge by Alida.
thanks
B
ANSWER: Dear Rebecca,
I am not familiar with "Mercia" nor "The Edge". I understand "the edge" is one of the lower end brands, and good for learning with HOWEVER will likely not be up to par once you have mastered UV Gel, and it's performance might be lacking compared to higher end uv gels.
Before choosing a uv gel, you need to ascertain what your needs are:
- soak off or buff off
- tipping or sculpting or NNO's
- custom blending
- camouflage gel for nail biters
etc....
Think on these things then seek out a gel that suitably meets all of those needs that you require.
Best of luck

QUESTION: Again thanks for the reply. Please can you suggest where I can obtain further learning material and info regarding nail technology. It seems that once the course your on has finished its the end of the road. I stumbled across this site whilst desperately trying to get help with my first question.
thanks once again
Rebecca
