Fix Thickened Nail Polish: A Solution for Nail Strengtheners

Question
I have purchased a nail strengthener and I am very happy with the results. However the top coat has thickened and it it very difficult to apply.  I was wondering if there was anything available that can be added to it to enable me to use the remainder.  I have noticed nail professionals adding something to their polishes when they thicken but I don't know what it is?

Answer
Go back to the place you purchased the strengthener and see if the same company makes a thinner for the product. The absolute best thing for thinning any type of polish is a thinner that is made by the same company specifically for the product that is being thinned.

The next best thing is to get another bottle of the same product and refill the thickened bottle from the new bottle, then mix them together well.

You can use polish thinner if you are absolutely desperate, but since this is a nail strengthener you risk breaking down the formula by adding thinner and may compromise the integrity of the product.

Avoid thinning with polish remover, the remover breaks down the product and pretty much just wrecks it in short order.
