Why Do Acrylic Nails & French Manicures Get Sticky? Prevention Tips

Question
QUESTION: I have acrylic nails and a french manicure.  It doesn't matter which salon I go to, I have this problem every time, but only with a french manicure.  My nails get sticky to the touch and then stuff like my make up, or lint from my clothing, etc., sticks to them and they look dirty.  I have friends that go to the same salons with the same manicure the do not have this problem.  What is happening and how can I prevent it?

ANSWER: hmm. Thats very weird that it happens in different salons. In my experience I HAVE FOUND THIS To happen because the polsih is not all the way dry. The reason it doesnt dry on you is probably because of old polish too thick OR alot of cheap salons put nail polsih thinner in polish to make it appear new and last longer. This can also make your polish not dry properly.

So maybee if you only go to (chop shop) nail salons and they use bad polish this could be why! And its very likely because for some reason white nail polish gets thick/old very quickly. Therefore causing nail salons to thin out the polish. In my salon I buy a new bottle of white once a month to keep it fresh, but I can imagine when they only charge 20$ for a pedicure they cannot afford to do that.

So I think you need to buy your self a brand new bottle of white nail polish and a good top coat and bring it with you. If this still fails you can put cuticle oil over your polish to help it dry and give it a slippery smooth surface. After the oil is applied theres no way it could have a tacky residue.

Let me know how it works for you!

QUESTION: It isn't that they don't dry, this often happens days after I have had my manicure.  And as I mentioned, my friend goes to the same salon and gets the same manicure and and has the same manicurist, and this doesn't happen to her nails.

Answer
Well If it happens days after then it must be something your doing not the salon. Maybe you cook with something ..or a certain lotion you use. Im not sure! All I can suggest is keeping cuticle oil on them at all times. Its creates that slippery surface, I mentioned earlier.
