Nail Tech License Requirements in the US: Do You Need Expensive Courses?

Good day!
I moved to the United States around three years ago.  Where I lived, I used to do nails but I didn't keep on doing them when I moved here.  I finished school but now I really want to do nails again, I have been practicing with myself and Started buying some equipment.  What I don't know is if I really need to take all those expensive clases and courses in order to get the nail tech license, where I live they all range from 3 to 4K and I have to go four hours a day for a year, and I am a full time worker... I know everything about how to keep it clean, health risks and everything.  Is there any way for me to just to take the exam and become a registered nail tech without having to spend that much money and time?

You need to contact the Illinois Department of professional regulations,They can be found online or you can call.

I am not sure how they handle licensing from other countries.
You will have to speak with them to find out what steps you need to take.
