QuestionHi Amber,
I was wondering if you could help me figure out two nail concerns that have bothered me for ages. First of all, why are my nails so thin and bendable? It makes it awfully difficult for me to grow out my nails to any decent length. Secondly, why can't I figure out a way to have nail polish stay on my nails longer than a few hours? Sure, I do a lot of dishwashing, but even if I put on nail polish the night before so it has the entire night to dry onto my nails I can't get it to stay beyond the first washing up.
I would love to have some decent nails without having to resort to the acrylics, but with the way my nails are it's impossible for me to have nails of any decent length. So your expertise would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Diane
AnswerHi Diane-
Your thin nails could be genetic or due to some damage along the way. I do not know your history so it is hard for me to determine.
Are you using a base coat and top coat as well? When you go to polish your nails here is what I want u to do.
Wipe all your nails using cotton and nail polish remover. DO not touch your just wiped nails with pads of your fingers(skin oil will deposite on them). Next apply a thin layer of base coat and let dry. Then apply two coats of polish. Then a thin layer of top coat.
Base is important because it helps your polish adhere better to your nails and top protects the polish.
I love a brand called rescue beauty lounge its fantastic a bit pricey but worth every penny.
Good Luck
