Nail Allergy: Causes, Symptoms & Safe Alternatives

Question
I am allergic to something in gel and all other types of nails I have tried at our local brand name salon. I get an ecsema rash that itches terribly and drives me crazy. I tried stick on nails recently - brand name 'nailene' but got a severe reaction in my mouth and tongue. Extremely dry lips, itchy, fissured tongue. I think it is the cyanoacylate. What other glue or product would u recommend?

Answer
Unfortunately, if you experienced a reaction to cyanoacrylate resin, there's a very strong possibility that there are no products on the market currently that would be safe for you to wear. Traditional liquid and powder (acrylic) and gel products don't usually contain cyanoacrylate, but they are usually considerd more likely to cause a reaction than cyanoacrylate resins.

Definitely consult a physician regarding the reaction you experienced, it could be important to know if you are going to have a reaction to adhesives in general.
