Hair Care Q&A: Shampoo & Mineral Water Effects on Blonde Hair

Question
Hello, and thanks!
First question is if it is true that you should use shampoo, and other styling products all within the same line to work best?  Or false.

Second is if my water happens to have minerals including copper in it (which can dull/darken my super lightened blonde hair), would a regular clarifier work?  Or should I purchase a de-mineralizer, etc?  Not sure exactly, and thank you so much!!

Answer
Susanne,
that is false. There is no need to use products all within the same line. Use what works best for you. Regular clarifying shampoos or treatments of chelating shampoos or treatments should work fine used once every several shampoos, to avoid mineral buildup on the hair. If you have extreme minerals then get a demineralizer or you can apply your clarifying or chelating shampoo and then sprinkle on some baking soda, work into a lather and leave for several minutes before rinsing and conditioning.
Best of luck to you.
