Answer
Hi Syed, thank you for your question.

Darker patches of skin, sometimes called hyper-pigmentation, are a very common medical condition and the treatments are also many and varied.

To start with I'd like to suggest that you use sun block to protect your skin from the sun. Skin naturally responds to sunlight by producing Melanin, the pigment that darkens the skin and so offering your skin as much protection as possible may help.

There are also whitening soaps such as papaya soap or kojic soaps and skin bleaches   available from your doctor, which contain hydroquinone, which is a bleach which may help to lighten your skin.

Some cosmetic specialists could offer you laser treatments to help lighten the skin.  This treatment can be a bit costly and is uncomfortable while the treatment is taking place.  This would involve several visits for treatment so that new skin cells can develop which may help the skin to lighten again.

Lastly there is the option of using make-up.  A good foundation could help to balance out the different tones of your face by covering up the darker areas.

Without wishing to appear to diminish your concern, it is usually the case that others do not notice the things that make us embarrassed anywhere near as much as we think they do.

With regard to your neck.  There are 2 main choices.

Exercise concentrated on your neck area may help to help tone up the muscles around your throat.

Liposuction is an operation that may require an anaesthetic, where the fat could be taken out for you.

The advantage of exercise is its cheep and doesn't cause very much discomfort but may not be as effective as it's not easy to target a particular part of the body.

Liposuction is very targeted and effective but expensive and invasive and takes a little time to recover from the bruising.

I hope that this has been helpful,

All the best,

Kind regards, Claire
