How to Oxidize Silver & Copper: Achieve an Antiqued Look

Hi,

I am looking at ways to give copper & Silver beads/wire an antiqued look. Does any one of you have any suggestions on how I can oxidize silver and resources on where I can buy that stuff from (any web links). Also how do I hide the shiny look of copper to make it look old and antiqued. I would really appreciate if you can let me know of suggestions for supllies and where to get them. And what is LOS?

You need to get some Potassium Sulphide other known as Liver of Sulphur.
This will blacked silver and copper, which you can polish back after colouration, leaving the high spot a bit shiny and the deep parts black which is the most natural looking finish.
You can also get a product called Jax Black.
Try a jewellery wholesaler or supply.......
