QuestionI've purchased a Solid Sterling Silver "925" Carve bracelet. At least that's what the packaging read. What does Carve mean? Is there a chance of it being just silver plated? I found the price rather low but when I asked I was told that due to the high volume of sales, they are able to sell at very low prices. Is there a way of finding out whether it is silver or not? How much should a bracelet like this weigh? These are the dimensions:
Width: 1cm
Length:22 cm
AnswerGreetings,
To be honest I've not heard of 925 Carve.
As far as I know, carve means carve.....but this sounds as if it's being used as a TM or some sort of trendy reference.
Sorry can't help you on that one.
Based upon your dimensions and assuming that it is 1mm thick, then this should weigh around 21 grams and the standard trade cost is currently around $1.18/gram, which becomes less as you purchase by volume.
Silver is relatively inexpensive, and it is quite unlikely that a store would mark something as 925 if it wasn't. It just isn't really worth the headache
Hope this helps, P
