How to Safely Remove Excess Glue from Rose Quartz Jewelry

Question
I ordered a rose quartz pendant online & cannot get the seller to respond to my e-mails. The pendant has excess glue for where the bail was attached.  The glue has turned black & I would like to know how to remove it & not damage the quartz.  Thank you.

Depending on what type of adhesive was used......ACETONE, (nail polish remover) works well on most items of jewelry..you did not tell me if the pendant is Karat Gold or Sterling Silver or other metal....acetone may have an adverse reaction with some other metals. You also may compromise the entire section where the bail was attached. Use a pin or some other sharp thin metal to remove the blue with the acetone since you do not want to place all the pend. in the acetone. Or you may use a q-tip and pinpoint the acetone in the area of excess.
all the best
