Removing Black Glue from Rose Quartz Pendant - Safe & Effective Methods

Question
I ordered a rose quartz pendant online & cannot get the seller to respond to my e-mails. The pendant has excess glue for where the bail was attached.  The glue has turned black & I would like to know how to remove it & not damage the quartz.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Kristi,

Get some Acetone and a small glass container you can seal that is large enough to hold the quartz. Let it soak in the acetone for at least 24 hours.  It should completely dissolve the glue.  Then get you some good clear glue epoxy that is used to make jewelry and carefully re-glue without the excess.  http://www.gravescompany.com/adhesive.htm

The above web page has glues I would recommend.  The 330 two part epoxy is good or you can get the instant glue.
If you want to get local instant glue check out loc tight.

Good luck,
