Identifying Gold Rings: Decoding Markings & Hallmarks

Question
I have received a box of costume jewellery from my grandmother. She was born in England & moved to Australia with her mother aged 17. In the box was a heavy gold ring, shaped like a belt complete with buckle. There are 2 clear gems (or fake gems) set in the place where one would expect holes for the belt buckle. Inside the ring is stamped "GKL" then 4 seperate stamps - a crown, 18, an anchor on its side and S, all appearing as though stamped into the gold. Just beyond these "stamps" is the letter S, which is not "stamped" in appearence. I hope I've described it adequately! Hoping for some clue as to the origin of this ring.

Answer
Hi Mairi,
Thank You for writing.
With this style hallmark and stamp it seems the piece is 18K gold and was made in England UK.
Good explanation. I know this stamp well!!.
Unfortunately I cant give you the origin of the stone without seeing it.
