Expert Guidance on Recutting a 2.89ct Colombian Emerald

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2.89ct Round Columbian Emerald that is mounting into a ring. At the bottom of the gem, there appears to be a "slice" that gives the appearance of a "window" in the gem. Would it be worth recutting to repair the gem? Here is a link to a picture of the emerald. Thanks! http://www.ifad4u.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=117&categoryId=17

Answer
David,

I have to apologize.  I answered the same day I got it.
I not sure what happeded when I saw you were still listed
I sent the last message just to get it off the list.

As to your pictures.  They are not good enough to really tell you what you want to know.  It does look like the stone is windowed.  If the stone is deep we can close that which would improve the color and the light return for sparkle.  I not sure about the inclusions.  I can not see them with those pictures.  You would have to remove the stone to re-cut it.

I hope this helps you.
