QuestionQUESTION: I am looking to buy a white gold diamond tennis bracelet and i would like to know if there is a big difference in quality or look between 14kt or 18kt white gold? Are there any concerns that I should be aware of if i buy only 14kt white gold versus the 18kt white gold?
Thank you,
Jill
ANSWER: Jill
There is no aesthetic difference between the two, the 18kt is 75 pure gold thus it will be a little softer and will not wear as well, it will also feel slightly heavier as it is more dense....
also a bit more expensive...I would go with the 14kt

QUESTION: One more thing that I should have asked you, does it matter if the white gold has been Rhodium plated? Some bracelets have the rhodium plating in the description where as some do not mention this.
Thanks again,
Jill
AnswerMostly all white gold is Rhodium finished to protect the white gold from turning slightly Yellowish over time, that is the nature of white gold since its a mixture of yellow gold (natural state) and white alloys such as silver, palladium, nickel etc......white gold will turn slightly yellowish over time the rhodium protects it, however, even the rhodium finish wears off over time...that is why some elect for Platinum a Noble metal which will stay white over time
all the best
