Sell Your Old European Diamond Ring: Estimated Value & Selling Options

I have a Old European diamond platinum ring.  Appraised by AGA for $8,400.  Some specs below. How much roughly can one receive by selling?  Maybe rate in % of retail, replacement cost.

Color - I; Carot - 1.06 solitare; .08 other diamonds; clarity - S12; symentry - good; polish - good;

Do you need any other specs?

Was this a RETAIL REPLACEMENT COST APPRAISAL? No matter what the appraised value it is only worth what a willing buyer will pay for it. On average I would say you should expect around 50% of the retail value. But your the seller it's your call. You may not agree with the lower price. How old is the appraisal? Some folks really like the old european cut and some may think it is inferior. It sounds like a very good stone and if it is clean it may sell for more. Good Luck.
Selling is a different matter. You have to be careful for out right robbery. Ebay is the safest way to go but may not be the highest sale price. If you sell directly, like Craigslist, to the public never have the buyer come to your home and always take cash. Or you may be able to sell on consignment through a jeweler.
