Diamond Clarity & Cleaning: Understanding Your Vintage Rings

Question
I recently recieved several rings from my received she is 90. 3 of the rings are very old.  1 is round has 14k on it, the diamond is cloudy what does that mean? . The diamond on 1 a dry glue substance on it how do I clean it? The band on it has a copper looking undercoat near the joining of the diamond where the band is broke but not separated from the ring what does that mean? Could the band be made of something else?. The last is brilliant but I don't see 14k the band is very worn at the bottom. Did they always put 14k on old jewelry. Were their other symbols or signs they used in the early 1900's.

Answer
Anything can be possible in your case.
Bring the piece to a qualified Gemologist to Identify that the stone indeed is a diamond and then have professionaly cleaned to avoid getting into trouble.
