Identifying & Valuing Vintage Diamond Rings: A Guide

Hi I have been left by my late mother 2 what It hink are diamond rings, but I cannot find any hallmarks on them, all that is on the inside is 9ct plat and 18ct plat both are small 3 diamond rings one of which are small heart shape. How would I find out a date or a value.thank you Pete

Hi Peter,

The best thing you could do is take them to jeweler and ask if they are of any value. It seems to me that they are 9 carat & 18 carat plated rings and probably not diamonds. According to the stamps inthe rings. The key is the "plat" stamp. It could be for platinum or for plated, but platinum is not expressed by carat (ct)weight so without seeing or touching them I would have go with plated. I may be wrong so get someone near you a try on identifying them. Good luck.
