Changing Engraving on a 14K Signet Ring: Considerations & Potential Solutions

can the engraving be changed on a antique 14k signet ring? Thanks

this is out of my expertise and only a guess..
I would think the original engraving would be easily filled
with gold or silver.... and then be re-engraved...
here are a couple of problems... it may depend on what kind of stone you have in the ring if it can be removed because the heat may crack it...
also if it is gold... there are many colors of gold so it may be hard to match although may not matter if this is in the area of the engraving..
