Kopic Stone: What is it & Alternatives to Jade?

I recently returned from Thailand where I purchased a set of earrings made with a similar stone to jade called Kopic. Have you heard of it. It is for people that like jade but can't afford it. Please tell me about it and the correct spelling. Thanks.

Hello Larry and thank you for your inquiry. I have not heard of a stone similar to jade with the spelling Kopic or any other similar spelling. The only other names I know are jadeite and nephrite. Just wanted to add that I did find a Copic Company that produces jade green markers and artist supplies - coincidence ?
