1940s German Marcasite Jewelry Set - Value & History

Question

Antique jewelry set
I inherited a marcasite jewelry set from my father recently. I believe he bought it in the 1940's in Germany when he was there during the war. I have a bracelet, pendant and ring. All feature a large aquamarine looking stone. The mark is 835. Can you tell me anything about it?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi laurie, Indeed a set from the 40's. The .835 is a designation of metal purity, in this case 835/1000 parts pure silver, common to the day. whether the stones are Aqua is up for debate. these look like rather large stones and to be genuine Aqua set in silver would be extremely rare. However, the best way to ID the stones is to take them to a local good jeweler to identify for sure. the set might be quite valuable from a monetary aspect. Good luck. Thanks for the interesting question.
