Identifying a Unique Lapel Pin: Symbolism & Details

Question
I have this tack pin that is like no other pin i have ever seen it's quite odd, the thing is i cant figure out what it symbolizes it has like two plates theres the bottom one that is larger then the top that is silver with three pinkish/reddish color ruby/stones there cut like round diamonds there very pretty in the light you can see through them, the top plate is 10k gold around the rim witch is square and the letters. The back part is black now the letters is what i cant figure out i believe they are "DE" or it could be "OE" with half of a circle on top %26 another on the bottom of the letters like a oval shape in the back of the letters the D/O letter looks like two telephones facing each other with a dot in the middle. So i was hoping you can tell me what the letters indicate,  what the stones are just what the whole pin means.  I hope i was clear on the description if you have any questions that i was unclear about please feel free to ask me and I'll try to describe it better.    Thank You

Answer
Hello Bonnie and thank you for your inquiry. They say a picture is worth a thousand words and in this case that is true. You were very good in your description, but not having a visual is a clear detriment in this case. Fraternal organizations were extensive users of this type of tac and their designs and logos were usually ornate and confusing. I would suggest that if you believe it is silver or gold, have it checked by a qualified appraiser. Testing for metal content involves acid so a professional is necessary in order not to damage the piece. Then, if you can get a good picture of the front design, submit it to one of the online appraisal sites - I've listed one below - and they may be able to identify the design logo for you.  Just copy and paste the below url into your browser address field and hit enter:

It's always interesting to find something like this and then try to follow it through to the ocnclusion.  Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance on this one.
