Identify & Value Antique 14K Gold Cufflinks and Pin - Expert Appraisal
Question
cufflinks and pin
I bought these at an estate auction, There is a 14KI mark and on the underside of them, is an engraving that looks like 3 5 x wondering if you could identify them, and possibly the value. Any info would be much appreciated. I have also included a pin that I have, that I was also wondering about.Hoping that you might know something about it also. Thanks again Eliza Davis
AnswerHello Eliza and thank you for your inquiry. Your cufflinks are apparently 14K gold (because of the mark) but it is difficult to tell much without a visual of the marks. You might want to have the cufflinks verified for gold content by a jeweler. Sometimes older karat gold marks were used when just the "top" of the link was gold as in rolled gold plate. The pin looks like it might be a military cadet pin with enameling on either side. Any markings ? A book on military insignia might be helpful to you. Check with amazon.com for militaria collectibles. Sorry I couldn't give you more information but enjoy your items !
