Identifying the Metal of a Ring with Hallmarks ‘The One Set States 688 B’ and a Star with Three Streamers
QuestionHello there, first thanks so much for the help you are providing in this site.
I want to know what metal could be a ring stamped with:
"THE ONE SET STATES 688 B THE OTHER HALLMARK IS A STAR WITH THREE STREAMERS COMING OUT OF THE TAIL"
Do you know if is it silver or just silver plated? or what?
Thanks for any help
Jean
AnswerHello Jeannine and thank you for your inquiry. The only way to determine the metal, unless it is marked karat gold or sterling, is by having it tested. This is done by acid and needs to be done professionally. The 688B could be the design number and the other mark is probably the manufacturer logo. I have checked my resources and have not located a similar mark yet, but will keep your request active and let you know if I locate the name and any other informaton. Sorry I couldn't be of more help on this.
