The mark inside the ri
Hi! I inherited a sterling silver ring from my great grandmother. I do not know what year it was purchased, but I do know that long before I owned it, it was enlarged for some reason. Otherwise, there is a mark inside that says U STERLING and the U has an arrow through it. Please see attached picture.
I am wondering if you can tell me more about this mark, i.e. if a certain jeweler used it, when it was used, etc. I would like to know as much about this ring as I can and I feel that the only clue I have is that mark. What can you tell me about it?

AnswerI'm sorry Jessica I have never seen this mark before. There are Jewelers hallmark and trademark publications available on the web through a google search.
There also are trade mark publications in some Libraries.
