please can you tell me if this tells you anything???

AnswerHello Lottie and thank you for your inquiry. It would be difficult to tell much about the brooch without a visual of the piece and the hallmark. The REG2 could be British. If you know anything about the origins of the brooch, possibly where it was purchased or where the original owner lived that might lead to some clues.I have listed a hallmark site below that gives some visuals of hallmarks that you might be able to compare. Just copy and paste it into your browser address field and hit enter:

If you believe the piece is gold or precious metal/gemstones, you might want to have it valued by an estate jewelry appraiser. If you can get a good photo of the mark and item, there are also online appraisal sites that will work from a photo. "What's It Worth To You" is one site I am familiar with although I have not used them.
Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance and enjoy your brooch.
