QuestionMy fiance and I are living in Brazil. I moved here 6 years ago for work. I am a US citizen and she is Brazilian. We have been living together for 2 years here in Brazil. I am from Texas and we will going there for vacation in December this year and we want to get a marriage license in Texas and get married by a Justice of the Peace. My question is, what type of ID will she need to bring with her to get our license?
AnswerHi Tom~
I did a Google search by typing in what type of ID do you need to marry in Tx and this is what I found.
"In Texas, you will need one valid form of id such as drivers license, certified copy of your birth certificate, U. S. passport, military ID card, and your Social Security number."
Now if you plan on moving back here in the future and living in Tx, she'll need to eventually obtain a resident green card, even though you're legally married in the US.
I hope this helps you some.
