Doctor Chic Wedding: Bridesmaid Necklace & Cat Theme Ideas

Question
QUESTION: the theme is a doctor chic wedding so the gowns (bride) is going to be the color of the hospital scrubs (lots of attendees are hospital residents) and its just totally doc theme. my question is the bride loves cats and medicine and wants the bridesmaids to wear cat necklaces but how can we design the necklaces so that it is more doctor theme...? also how can we incorporate cats into a doctor theme?

ANSWER: Dear Questioner,
Weddings are a great way to express yourself and your individual tastes, but they can quickly spiral out of control. It sounds like you are trying to force two things together. A better option might be to split the party into two themes. The ceremony could be more doctor oriented while the reception could focus on cats. A cute example of incorporating cats into the party is with table numbers. Take pictures of the bride's cats next to each table number and then use those pictures as the actual displays on each table at the reception. If you are determined to keep the cat and doctor theme together, charms would be the way to go. You could get one charm with the Caduceus of Mercury (the two snakes wrapped around the staff) or a stethascope and another with a cat charm, placing both on the same chain. If the wedding is very casual, the bridesmaids could even wear stethascopes with stuffed cats clipped onto them.
Happy planning,
Susie

QUESTION: By charms do you mean charms for the necklace??? and that stuffed cats to the stethoscope is clever. thanks :))

Answer
Yes, I mean charms for the necklace. You don't have to wear charms on a bracelet. If you get charms with a ring on the end (so it hangs) you can simply hang it loose from a plain chain. This way, if the bridesmaids decide later, they can transfer the charm(s) onto a bracelet. This would make a beautiful bridesmaid gift.
