AnswerHello Joe from Ireland,
PCOS is one of those disorders that are not really well understood. It is basically an ovarian dysfunction. Because of this, the ovary will respond irregularly to Clomid. Many PCOD patients will not respond to Clomid at all. The maximum dose that can be used is 250 mg per day, and some PCOD patients will not respond until this dosage level. The ones that don't respond to Clomid will either need to go to Femara or Clomid+injectables or injectables.
I would advise that you see a fertility specialist as soon as you can so that you can get on the right track to get pregnant.
