QuestionHi, My husband and I have been trying to conceive our second child for almost 2 years now, I was diagnosed in February 2010 with PCOS and since than have lost 20 pounds on Metformin. But we still were not ovulating, this cycle my doctor put me on 50 mg of clomid which I took CD4 through CD8 and I am now on CD 16 and for the last week starting CD12 I have been VERY nauseous and having cramps that are about what I get on my period. I did have an Ultrasound on CD 4 before taking the clomid that showed pearl like cysts on my right ovary but none on my left.
Is it a bad sign that I'm cramping so much or is it possible at all that I'm ovulating already? I hope that you can put my stressed mind at ease some. Thanks.
AnswerHello M'Lisa from the U.S.,
Clomid can definitely speed up your ovulatory preparation and ovulation. That is why the cycle should be monitored so that your doctor can know what your ovary is doing! It is hard for me to know what is going on by the internet. I would do an ultrasound if I was your doctor, AND I always monitor my patients when they take Clomid.
Good Luck
