QuestionI'll forewarn you, this question is going to be a bit long, but I have been trying to find answers for over a week now...lots of research online, but nothing that seems to really answer my questions.
First, I believe I am pregnant...Last month my boyfriend(of 2 years) and I had a little "mishap" a day or two before my period, I had my period on time that month, but it seemed to be short. Throughout the following month I started noticing different things, such as extemely excessive slimy clear discharge(mucas plug forming?), constipation, excessive sleeping (10-15 hours a day!), and major mood swings. I didn't think much about these things until about two weeks ago, I thought the sleeping was getting out of control. I started research on the internet and realized that a lot of these are pregnancy symptons. I started to get worried and started "picking up" other common symptons...my period is always a few days early, this month I took a prenancy test a few days before my missed period, the day my period was to start etc., they came up neg. but I truly believe I am pregnant. I have one more test I will wait and take because i read on line that your hcg levels may not be high enough for test to detect. My period came on time, but was only 2 days long. So, my main question is how common is bleeding in the first month or so of pregnancy? I also read somewhere that smoking causes vaginal bleeding, I smoke about a pack a day (ill quit if I am pregnant!), aslo, my boyfriend thinks that the smoking and/or my age (20 in 2 months) may be a reason for the period. I also would like to know when I should take another pregnancy test? when will my hcg levels "definately" be high enough for a test? I would love to go to a doctor to get a blood test but I do not have insurance, and we don't have the extra money to spend on a doctor visit if i am not pregnant. I know my parents would be supportive, but I don't want to tell them until I know for sure. So maybe you can help me answer these questions or lead me to a site that has more info for younger pregnancies. It seems as if everything is geared towards really young mothers or older, I just need some help easing my mind!
AnswerWell by the sleeping patterns and menstrual patterns it definately sounds like pregnancy to me. Pregnancy test normally will turn out accurate 4-6 weeks after your initial sex act. Sometiems it will very though. It could also be stress or another illness causing all this. I would go see my physician if I were your. They will eb able to test your for pregnancy as well as other things. Good Luck
