Delayed Period & Ovulation: Understanding Symptoms & Pregnancy

Question
I am 26, I have no children, my last period was 6/12. I got off the pill in June and I have not had my period since. The dr's told me my body fat was too low. For the past month I have decreased my workout and increased my eating habits. I now have all the sign and symptoms of a period (bloating, breast tenderness, cramps) but still no bleeding. Can I be ovulating and not bleed? Can I get pregnant without having a period?

Answer
If you are not having your period, you probably are not ovlating. If you have gained some weight, you may be ready for your period. I would ask your doctor to give you Provera 10mg twice a day for 5 days and you should start your period. Although you probably are not ovulating without a period, it is sometimes possible to ovulate so you should still use protection to avoid pregnancy.
