Late Period After Weaning & Birth Control Concerns: Possible Causes & Advice

i am 26 years old-3 children. my baby is now almost 10 months old. i just stopped fully nursing and my period is over a week late i took a preg. test and its neg. any explanation as to what is going on with me-i'm on birth control-"encare"? any advice would be great that you in advance!

Sometimes, when you stop nursing, it can take up to a full year to get back to regular periods. The encare has an efficacy rate of around 90% and you have to use it every time you have sex. If you do not get your period in three months, call your gynecologist and have your period induced with Provera 10mg twice a day for 5 days. It is, however, quite normal to be late in getting your period for several months after weaning the baby from your breasts.
