QuestionMy boyfriend is in the marines and he came home for a couple of days and had a lot of unprotected sex. i'm on orthocyclen and when he came home had only been on it for about a month and a half. the only thing is i don't always remember to take it as directed to. (the same time everyday). im suppose to take it at about six pm. there are nights i don't take it til like midnight. the last time we had sex before he left again was on a wednesday morning. i got my period that friday for about two and a half days. but then i was told that his sperm can live in me for up to six days... how much am i at risk for pregnancy? i am about a week away from when i am suppose to get my next period and i am not getting all the signs of pms i usually do... broken out face, irritability, way emotional... should i wait and see if i get my period or take a test asap? Answer Hello. You did NOT have unprotected sex as far as pregnacy goes. You were on the pill.
While it is true you should try to take them at the same time, missing by only a few hours should not increase your risk enough to worry about.
As far as not gettnig the "usual" pms symptoms you can thank the pill for that.
The pills helps you to not get those symptoms.
You should just wait and see if your period comes, I bet it will.
Remember when you are on the pill it is normal for you to have your period anytime during the "reminder" pills or the week off the pills.
