Delayed Period After Birth Control: Causes & What to Expect

I am a week into my 3rd month of birth control and I still haven't started my period for the end of the 2nd month. During the 2nd month I did have breakthrough bleeding close to the middle of the pack. I have taken a couple pregnancy tests and they all came back negative. I'm just wondering what could be the problem and if i'm going to start my period anytime soon?

Sometimes when you are on birth control, the hormones can cause your period to be irregular. I don't recommend any kind of hormonal birth control because of risks and side effects.
