Postpartum Period Return: How Long After Childbirth?

How long does it take for your monthly period to come back after a normal vaginal birth? I am not breastfeeding and it has been 12 weeks since my son was born. Can you help?

Usually your period should return within the first few months if you are not breastfeeding.  However, it can be normal for it to take up to six months for your cycles to resume.  Be patient.  If you feel that something might be wrong, consult with your doctor.
