AnswerYou really have to keep a record of when the first day of your period is, each month. If you have a regular 28 day cycle (from the first day of your period until the first day of your next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. You can only become pregnant if you have unprotected sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16. If you did become pregnant on one of those days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after you miss your perod. IF you get your period (even if it is a few days late) you are not pregnant.Sometimes a period can start early. If you have any doubts, take a pregnancy test three weeks after the suspected date that you had sex. There is no way to know if you have become pregnant until 14-21 days after sex. If you just had sex yesterday or the day before, get a morning after pill. YOu are correct that you have to take the morning after pill within 72 hours of sex. If you knew when the first day of your last period was, we could figure out what is going on. So please write down the date of the first day of every period that you have, from now on.
