Question -
I had sex with a girl on the 2nd day of her period. I used a condom with spermicide lubricant on condom. If there was any way sperm leaked out and wasnt killed by the spermicide is there a chance of pregnancy because it was the 2nd day of her period. She is 10 days late now but I think it's because she's stressing over it all. PLease respond ASAP! thanks
Answer -
A woman cannot become pregnant on the second day of her period. If she has a normal 28 day cycle (from the first day of her period until the first day of her next period) ovulation occurs on cycle day #14. She can ONLY become pregnant if she has sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16 each month. If she does get pregnant on one of those days, a pregnancy test will not show a positive result until 14-21 days later. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after she misses her next period. She cannot become pregnant on cycle day #2(the second day of her period) because she has not ovulated yet. Don't worry.

Answer
Spermacide is only 90% effective in killing sperm. However, since she was only on cycle day #2 when you had sex, she cannot become pregnant. It does not hurt to take a pregnancy test if she is 10 days late for her period. Perhaps she did have sex on cycle day #13, 14, 15, or 16 and got pregnant on one of those days. It never hurts to be sure. If she had sex on the second day of bleeding (cycle day #2) and did not have sex on any other day of the cycle, she could not have become pregnant.
