hi,
i am five months pregnant. i am taking only "folicum" folic acid tablet now. i took 3 bottles of ayurvedic iron medicine. now not taking any iron tablet as the ayurvedic medicine is finished. it is not available in Kuwait. can i take Osteocare calcium tablet during pregnancy. it is a product is vitabiotics.

i was taking ayurvedic medicine. also "folicum" folic acid tablet. in osteocare the contents it is written that a rich source of calcium, magnesium, zinc and vitamin D to help strong bones. no artificial colourings, no preservatives, no gluten,sugar,fat, no lactose,salt and yeast. approved for vegetarians.it has not been tested on animals.

i had been advised to take elevit tablet 2 months back. but it caused constipation and gas problem. so i stopped. now not taking that. it contains vitamins, minerals and trace elements for oregnancy and lactation. shall i start elevit now? or osteocare? which one is better?
AnswerHello again Susmitha. You need BOTH the osteocare AND prenatal vitamins. Try to find a health food store that sells prenatal vitamins that must be taken THREE times a day- they are much better absorbed than the one a day kind. For iron, the best is a vegetable source product- I know of one that is a liquid available at most health food stores. I hope that helps- Cheri.
