Delayed Period After Pill: What to Expect & When to Worry
QuestionI stopped taking the pill because my husband and I want to conceive. This is my first month off the pill and I have not started my period. I know it is normal to skip a month or two in order for your body to adjust, but if I do not start, is there something that can be done in order to make me start so I can conceive? (I started taking the pill to regulate my period)
Thank you
AnswerOnce you stop birth control pills, you will usually revert back to the type of periods you had before you went on the pill. If you were irregular before the pill, you will usually be irregular again when you stop the pills. If you do not get your period in another month, ask your gynecologist to induce your period for you with Provera 10mg twice a day for 5 days and you should get your period within 10 days. Good Luck.
