Persistent Bronchial Infection During Pregnancy: Seeking Relief & Advice
QuestionHi,
I'm 40 years old and 5 months pregnant with my second child. I HATE taking any kind of medication ever, but especially when pregnant. I managed to develop a bronchial infection last week before xmas and it won't go away. I've tried a great deal of safe home remedies and finally resorted to getting zithromax from my OB. THat was 8 days ago and my cough seems to be worse!
I'm coughing up yellow phlem occassionally and I'm tired of peeing my pants every time I cough!
What on earth can I do to get rid of this?
Thank you so much for your time.
Rhonda
AnswerThis respiratory infection is rampant this month. I have it as well and have taken Zithromax with little effect. The cough persists. If you are starting to cough up phlem, you MUST get a chest X-ray (shield your abdomen) and have someone listen to your lungs. The Zithromax is probably ineffective because it is probably due to a virus. Check it out if it persists.
